Reviews
Want a great sandwich? Look no further than California Sourdough! I never miss an opportunity to grab a sandwich from here! There only open for a few hours so plan accordingly! I believe from 11am-2pm during the week! The sourdough is so fresh and taste so good! You could get any sandwich here and it would be so good! Very kind service! The employees were so kind and helpful!
My new favorite Mom 'n Pop sandwich shop that I wish I had tried sooner! They have indoor and outdoor dining, plus an appreciable water dispenser. Although this place is on the smaller side and there is pretty much always a long lunch line, service is efficient and staff are very welcoming. If you're not a fan of pickles or even mustard like me, they won't judge or forget haha. FOOD REVIEW: *Spicy turkey -- gonna have to come back for this exact order because wowow I have never had such amazing sourdough bread! The perfect amount of fluff inside and a crunch on the outside that 100% will not stab your gums. I'm pretty picky about my sandwiches and tend to order the same thing every visit. Luckily for me, the components they add to every sandwich option available are right up my alley. If you visit with a friend and wanna skip the pickles or mustard, they can have it! Cashier told me herself and I thought that was super generous. I ended up going with their garlic aioli and would love to buy a whole bottle of it. PARKING: Best way to avoid a long line and parking far away is to come at breakfast time! CA Sourdough is located in a plaza with a bunch of other business which range from medical services to cosmetics boutiques. Plus, locals come here for lunch. If you're in a pinch, do consider that peak/busy hour is 12-1 pm!
Favorite sandwich spot in SJ Can't go wrong with any of their meat options but I usually get the Roast Beef + Turkey with regular mustard and ask for the garlic spread! The bread here always hits the spot. Line can be long sometimes but they work fast to get through everyone cash only As of today 12/20, it is now $15 a sandwich
The restaurant's exterior design makes it hidden in plain sight with all that beige, but thanks to a solid recommendation, it really is the inside that counts. A few colleagues and I came here only knowing that they open from 11 to 2pm. Better get in line before they close for the day! I opted for the #24 Bold Madrasala Curry Chicken, because to curry favor, favor curry. Had in my mind there was going to be hot curry chicken oozing out, but it turned out to be regular ol' deli slices of chicken. The scent of fresh baked sourdough was enticing, and the first bite of the sandwich was just incredible. Fresh bread is something to savor, so while the others were wondering whether they could finish their whole sandwich, I just went at it whole hog. Without a doubt, it was a very satisfying lunch.
One of the best sandwiches in the South Bay. Simple but done right with fresh baked sour dough.
